The Houston Angel Network offers a unique category of membership for Investment and Academic Organizations such as venture capitalists, small business investment companies, family investment organizations, and academic institutions. The goals of this class of membership include bringing together more of the Houston investment community, encouraging cooperation between investors throughout the investment “value chain”, and increasing the resources available to both the Institutional Member and the Network. HAN Institutional Investors work directly with our members to help evaluate and fund promising technologies, and are a valued part of our Organization.

LeSuer Consolidated Business Interest, LTD (LCBI, Ltd.) is a family limited partnership (FLP) that was established on January 21, 1998, with tax ID no. 76-0570458. Certificate of Limited Partnership was filed with the Office of the Secretary of State in the state of Texas on January 23, 1998. This is a limited partnership with two General Partners, namely -- Kenneth Ray LeSuer and Kim-Eng LeSuer. Karyn Ruth LeSuer & Geoffrey Mark LeSuer are limited partners. The partnership makes family investments which to date have been mostly in diversified portfolio of stocks, bonds, real estate, commodities, etc. Our present intention is to expand into more real estate, MLP's, and start up entrepreneur opportunities along with some business management activities.

HCC Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses: This initiative is designed to create economic growth by empowering small business owners. The program includes 90 hours of instruction covering every aspect of the business, an opportunity to work one-on-one with a business advisor and to create a growth plan that can be used to seek capital. This comes at no cost to business owners through a grant provided by Goldman Sachs. The program also provides access to various capital sources, and, through an Alumni group, continued networking, training and entrepreneurial resources support. Applicants should meet the following criteria: 1) owner or Co-Owner of a business; 2) business in operation for at least two years; 3) business revenues between $150,000 and $4 million; and 4) a minimum of four employees. Shell Technology Ventures or "STV" is Shell's corporate Venture Capital fund. STV invests in early-stage technology companies in oil & gas and future energy technologies (clean/green tech). Originally launched in 1997, this corporate venturing team has invested and deployed new technologies across the energy sector. Its mission has been rejuvenated recently. STV acts as a strategic partner and makes minority investments in select technology companies, joint ventures, Shell technology spin-outs, and externally managed venture capital funds. We like to syndicate with other VC's and corporate investors. STV can help make entrepreneurs successful, by providing access to our R&D and test laborites, a network of thousands of people to evaluate technology, access to field trials, and our large global customer- supplier base.

A first for the energy industry, SURGE Accelerator is a mentor-driven seed accelerator designed to identify, invest in, and support entrepreneurs who are solving the world’s energy and natural resource problems using technology. SURGE selects the best companies from around the world to take place in a three-month intensive program.
